Stomach Exercises

There are certain stomach exercises you can do to help tone your abs, but you have to lose fat that as accumulated around the abdominal muscles. Spot training will not work. The key components to lose stomach fat healthy eating and a full body workout that will work your heart and your muscles. Only then you will start losing belly and body fat. You should use them with all full body workouts. This full body workout should include cardio workouts, weight training, and interval training. There are certain stomach exercises that will tone your abs to help give them definition once the layer of fat is diminished.

Stomach Exercises to Tone Your Abs
  • Exercises for the Lower Abs ; Using your abdominal pull your hips off the floor and towards your chest. Hold, release, and return to your starting position. (1 set, 10 repetitions)
  • Pulse Up lie on your back in a supine position and place your palms under your tailbone. Lift your legs and point your feet straight up in the air. Lift with your abs by pulling your navel inward and lifting your pelvis off the ground. Contract the butt muscles as well. Hold and release and return to starting position. (1 set, 10 repetitions)
Exercises for the Upper Abs

  • Abdominal Crunch lie down and bend your knees at a 90 degree angle. Place your arms crossed on your chest. Lift your upper body by using your abdominal off the floor. Return to starting position. (1 set, 10 repetitions)
  • Towel Abs Crunch utilize the Abdominal Crunch, but place a rolled up towel under your lower back. (1 set, 10 repetitions)
Exercises for the Oblique Muscles
Oblique V-Up Lie on your side and keep your body in a straight line. Place your arms across your chest and lift your legs, keeping them close together, off the floor. Raise your elbow toward your pelvis. Return to start. Remember to exercise both sides. (1 set, 10 repetitions)

Exercises with Rotation
Russian twist begin by sitting with your torso at a 45 degree angle. Raise your arms in front of the body and twist to one side as far as you can go. Then repeat on the other side without pausing in between. (1 set, 10 repetitions). Bicycle lie with your back on the floor. Bend your knees at a 90 degree angle. Place your hands by your ears and pedal as would on a bike while rotating your torso side to side. (1 set, 10 repetitions)

These are just some stomach exercise to tone and firm you abs. Use these exercise in conjunction with a proper healthy diet and a more intensive exercise program that will help you lose stomach fat.
